	Medical hardware continues to be a growing segment of our business. Due to the increasingly complex geometries and tight quality requirements of the latest generation of orthopedic components, the aircraft-quality machining services we provide are well suited to this industry. EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) can produce features not easily achieved with conventional machining methods. These features include narrow precision slots, contour shapes, and dead-stop holes.
	The tibial tray shown (above left) can also be seen at left as the lower component of this artificial knee. Precision slots are cut into this component using Traveling Wire EDM.
	Stainless steel bone screws require a precision hex shape cut into the head. This shape is achieved with conventional (plunge) EDM.
